| We raise Nigerian Dwarf and Oberhasli dairy goats. We chose the Nigerian Dwarf because their milk is high in butterfat, which was a great asset in our cheesemaking operation. The Oberhasli are a great breed for us, we like them for their temperment and curiosity. We planted orchard grass, clovers, chicory, bluestem, indian grass and endophyte free fescue in our pastures to give the goats a balanced diet. We have found this mixture has extended our grazing season.
